Reliability, safety and on-time performance are pre-requisites of a successful airline and Engineering excellence is the only way by which this may be achieved. At Emirates Engineering Training, we provide a wide range of intensive technical training programme. Fully equipped to ICAO standards, Emirates' extensive facilities include basic engineering, machine, welding, composites repair, airframe, engine and avionics workshops.

At Emirates, we provide a wide range of technical training covering the whole Emirates fleet. The Engineering School is GCAA and EASA 147 approved and provides courses to EASA level 1, 2 and 3 and ATA level 1, 2, 3 and 4 standards.

Programmes for United Arab Emirates Nationals

  • In-house Engineering Apprenticeship

    Apprentice Mechanics Programme (Aeroplanes with Turbine Engines) - 3 years
    Apprentice Mechanics Programme (Avionics) - 3 years

    To be eligible you need to be between the 17-23 with a High School Certificate in science or technical discipline.

    During your 3 years training period you will undergo 3 years of dedicated theory and practical studies with Engineering Training. Subsequent to this you will be posted to Base Maintenance for a period of 2 years to undergo On-Job-Training on Emirates aircraft. During this period, you will acquire GCAA Basic Licence after passing the written and oral examination approved by GCAA. Once you obtain the GCAA licence, you will receive the HND Certificate from Emirates Aviation College, Centre of Excellence.

    After the License, you will be nominated for Type training on Emirates aircraft by your Line Manager depending on a satisfactory report (like his regularity, general attitude, knowledge and recommendation from his immediate supervisor).

  • HCT Programme

    Apprentice Mechanics Programme (Aeroplanes with Turbine Engines) - 3 years
    Apprentice Mechanics Programme (Avionics) - 3 years

    To be eligible you need to be between the 17-23 with a High School Certificate in science or technical discipline.

Subsequent to this you will be posted to Base Maintenance for a period of 2 years to undergo On-Job-Training on Emirates aircraft.     After the License, you will be nominated for Type training on Emirates aircraft by your Line Manager depending on a satisfactory report. (like his regularity, general attitude, knowledge and recommendation from your immediate supervisor)

  • Graduate Trainee Programme - 2 years

    To be eligible you should have Aeronautical Engineering Degree or equivalent.

    During the 2 years training programme you will be posted to various sections of Engineering Department to gain practical experience and knowledge.

    After completion of 2 years training
    - You will be absorbed as Engineer in Engineering Support Services.

  • HCT Engineering Graduate Programme - 2 years

    To be eligible you should be a Graduate in Airframe/Avionics.

    During the 2 years training programme you will be posted to Base Maintenance Section of Engineering to undergo On Job Training.

    After completion of 2 years training
    - You will be absorbed as Aircraft Mechanic in Engineering Department

    Based on your licence and knowledge your Line Manager will nominate you for type courses.

Aircraft Type Training

Approved aircraft type training is conducted on Airbus A310, A330-200, A340-300, A340-500 and the new A380-800 plus the Boeing B777-200, 200ER, 200LR, 300 and 300ER variants.

Our aircraft type training utilises advanced computer based systems, including Airbus VACBI and Boeing CBT programmes together with ground based maintenance simulators to allow the students to practice the required procedures in a controlled environment under an instructor's guidance.

Program for Expatriates

A 2-year expatriate apprenticeship programme, designed for school leavers with the right to reside and work in Dubai.

This programme includes classroom, workshop and on-the-job hangar training. Successful students can gain a GCAA / EASA Part 66 'A' license.
